(september 1) aaaaaw, thank you for the fan art!!!!!! whoever you are, you anonymous commenter on my blog you, thank you for making this for me! it definitely made my day! :-) i love how the hair is so my hair, and the eyes too! haha. feel na feel ko naman ata masyado ang pagka-superbianca ko. today is a major day for philippine politics. couldn't believe senator mar stepped down! i must say, i really look up to him much more now. its such a big, big dream of his to run for president, and he's been very vocal about it ever since, and now he humbled himself. its nice to know some politicians are still selfless! now that candidacy filing is nearing, i hope we all keep aware of who we should vote for and why! lots will happen in the coming months! GoD bless our country!

(september 2) rest in peace, alexis. today is a sad, sad day for the philippine film industry. i first met alexis when i was a senior in college, working part time as ryan agoncillo's co-host on 'review night' on cinema one. he was always so smart and spot on when it came to film. he wasn't a filmmaker, he was a critic, but everyone had high respect for him. for someone who didn't grow up here in the philippines, but chose to stay here to better the industry, is a big deal. for someone to take his life over laptops and jewelry is complete nonsense. i'm still in shock and still mourning his and his girlfriend nika's senseless passing. its passionate people like them that make a difference in this world. please say a prayer for them today.

(september 4.2) yaaay! thank you mtrcb!!!! :-) they gave us at y speak a special award for promoting education! and its their first ever awards night so its an honor to be recognized! :-) i attended with my producers ate karen and mark. and on the red carpet, would you believe, na-wow mali ako??!? hahahahaha! gosh i used to watch that show growing up, and i can't believe i'm on it! haha! actually it ended up being baduy, cause when the interviewer started talking too fast that it was not understandable, i said kaagad, 'uuy, parang wow mali naman to.' in fairness to him he stuck to his role, but when i said it again, he gave in na! haha. sat beside daddy j aka julius babao the whole night, and we were just talking about the different political shockers the past week! we are both still undecided and still studying who to vote for president. :-)

(september 7) 798 art district is officially, officially one of my favorite places here in china! woooooow. i'm in awe! imagine a whole district, maybe as big as malate, that is like cubao x meets new york's meatpacking district with the weather of san francisco. its sooo beautiful! every little corner is an art shot or is fashion editorial worthy. its rows and rows and streets and streets of art galleries and art shops, from paintings to sculptures to portraits to ceramics, and the architecture and interior design is just crazy!!!! there's a giant birdcage designed cafe, there's a cement man with wings hanging from a random building, there are graffiti walls as far as the eyes can see. its sooo beautiful! i'm still looking for the perfect item to take home from here. i can't wait to share pictures on my blog! for now, its break time at a cool outdoor cafe. :-)

(sep 8) tiananmen square! the tiananmen square where mao zedong used to address his subjects. this place rocks!!! on the itinerary today were the forbidden city, tiananmen square, and bei hai park. aside from famous restaurants for lunch and dinner. oh wow, I've had so much duck here that I told my family to not wonder if I start quacking when I get home! sooo much duck it should be a sin! hahaa. amazing the history of china. really. the forbidden city is just this massive complex with temples for every single type of occasion or celebration! its preserved so well despite the thousands of tourists that visit everyday! tiananmen square is rally somewhere people like to sit and hang. amazing to see mao's giant face in person. bei hai park is so pretty like new york's central park. all the lakes, and trees, and structures. very, very nice.

CONQUER THE GREAT WALL!!!! wow. wow. really. words are not enough to describe what its like. I tried taking both photo and video, but really, wow, nothing beats being there, on the wall, climbing it, touching it. its so surreal!!! looking back at the photos now I still can't believe I was actually there!!! we did the 10K hike from jinshanling to simatai. the part of the wall not yet restored in modern times. as in the actual wall parts during the ming dynasty. we were on it! AWESOME EXPERIENCE. exhausting too. didn't bring my phone, sorry, can't send an mms. will post everything on my blog naman and will let you know when its up. on the way back to beijing now. its actually three hours by land. so exhausted on the bus, and so glad we brought snacks and water with us to eat and drink along the way.

(sep 9.2) its a celebratory dinner! hahahaha. we've been having chinese every single meal, so for tonight we decided to go for french! went for steak strips with blue cheese sauce and a nice bottle of white wine. ahhh! we're in this nice resto we found on lonely planet (our travel bible, I swear) and its a charming but inexpensive resto! our kind of place. we feel we have this extra purpose whenever we travel.. to get fellow tourists we meet to go to manila! always, always. when we make friends, we always tell them to come to manila, or boracay. we enjoy a couple of drinks together and exchange email addresses, usually to send them our pictures together. fun! tonight we met three germans. alex, tobias and cruz. real funny guys who kept giving us travel tips. we raised our glasses and tobias said, 'we will never be this young again. cheers!'

(september 10.2) welcome to bar blu!! its this super steady rooftop bar in the sanlitun area. a whole area much like malate with strips of cafes and bars and every few steps you take the smells and the sounds change! really nice, bustling area! :-) we chose this place, first cause the music was steady, second cause it was nice and cold rooftop open air, third cause they had a big screen playing football highlights! nice. haha. so funny though, in the table beside us, we couldn't help but overhear two english boys picking up two korean girls! busting out all these funny pick up lines like, 'hey i know some chinese, wo ai ni!' hahahaha! or, 'yeah, maybe after a few drinks here we can go dancing!' twas so, so funny. :-) its nice to people watch talaga! haha! or observe how they act! do you enjoy people watching too?
