(aug 1) hello lah! hello from beautiful singapore! sending you a token sg shot with the merlion in the background. right behind it, that super cool structure behind is the newly constructed marina bay sands area. its awesome! the big low building is their convention center where the press conference for lee min ho was held, and the tall buildings behind it is the marina bay sands hotel.. google it! its apparently one of the most expensive to build buildings in the world! i now super regret not going up to see the place! its three huge towers with a giant ship looking structure at the top, which is open air made to make you feel like you're on a ship sailing in the air. complete with palm trees and a huge infinity pool! sayang, should've at least checked it out for sunset sessions or something! boo us. got to go around orchard road for a bit, i brought around ate jasmine, my executive producer with me, and kuya gilbert our cameraman. didn't really shop a lot, we didn't have the time. i did get me a medium sized muji suitcase which i've been wanting as my work suitcase. got to buy pasalubongs lang for my loved ones back home, a pair of killer black heels from bebe, but sadly i didn't find any singapore sticker for my laptop. rushing back to manila this afternoon to tape snn tonight. i'm still sick! i'm running on vitamin c and adrenaline. please help pray i get better! thank you!

(aug 4) watch out for the all new y speak! hanging out now at our y speak office in the studio 23 office. :-) office is the same, staff is the same, what's new is our creative director and co host! jim libiran, veteran journalist and filmmaker has signed on to be our creative director! and youth advocate jiggy aquino cruz is our co host! winner! :-) i love the new concept. its a more hands on, up close and personal y speak. we'll really be doing more field work, doing more one on one interviews, which i love! :-) for our first episode of the new format airing august 14, the topic is all about sex education. i got to do a sit down interview with two case studies, a bisexual who learned about sex because of molestation as a kid, and a single serial dater who learned about sex with his friends. super interesting! plus, our topics carry on. its not just one episode, but a series of episodes, it progresses as a topic, so it really becomes more educational and informative! like if this is about how you learned about sex, next episodes will be about how rampant it is now, branching out into prostitution and early pregnancies and other related stories. i'm so, so, so excited! i'm so thankful y speak is still alive and believe it or not, we're turning six years old this september! :-)

(aug 11) black and white is today's theme! oversized white tee from korea, black skinny jeans from topshop, zebra print belt thrifted from sf, black and white flats from sydney. hello everyone! its errands day today! but i started my day with a killer pilates session! i really died!!!! haha. at first my instructor mona worked my abs til it couldn't take it anymore, then she worked my arms til they were shaking, then she worked my legs til they were burning! all those parts were so, so painful that i couldn't even tell which was most painful! hahaha! but in the end, you know what, everything was so painful that the pain ended up cancelling out each other, so much so that i feel okay! haha! a good work out is very fulfilling. :-) also did some bank work and bills today.. fixed a few things and did a bit of reading and studying for another unicef site visit i'm doing this weekend! yaay! :-) a few weeks ago, tito gary did a site visit in maguindanao and wow, i heard it was amazing! our location this weekend is cebu and i'm very excited! :-) its my dream to do a visit in the war zones in mindanao, but they're training me well first to prepare me to be able to do that next time. :-) off to a busy, busy day then snn tonight! :-)

(aug 12) two apologies! first, is because my black and white ktxt yesterday was dated wrong, sorry twas supposed to be august 11! second, sorry because i'm sharing an ultra gross ktxt picture today! pimple alert!!!! waah! i just can't over how i woke up with an extra being on my face! like i have a plus one! like i have an extra co host at work today! hassle. :-( so i was stressing about my pimple all morning, and i was stressing because i had absolutely no time to pass by my derma dra. ayeese. lo and behold, when i get to work, i was stressing about it with my tfc staff and i said in jest that i wish the abs clinic had a derma. mae our p.a suddenly goes, 'may bagong bukas na derma diyan sa baba!' waaaaaah! i could hardly believe it! GoD is so great! hahahahaha. so before putting make up, i ended up rushing down stairs to get my pimple injected just to make it subside. haha. its really bizarre how when i was in high school and college i never, ever, ever got pimples. the only reason i became a model wasn't cause how i looked, but more cause my skin was sooo nice! and because of the work i do and all the make up i wear, my skin got bad and when i get pimples its really one huge ones like this. boo. i learned a tip though from the abs derma today, when you feel a pimple coming, put ice on it. i'll try that. :-)

(aug 13) welcome to our cebu city unicef site visit! :-) this is my first time to do a site visit focusing on the child protection program. my concern and focus is usually education and even health, but they want me to learn more about the other fields that unicef helps filipino children with. we're here now to spend time with street children in their kamp pag-asa! today is the third and final day of their three day camp where they learned life skills, social skills, and we even have a theater insider who taught the kids all about movement and story telling. it was sooo amazing. we got to the location and the kids were getting ready for their presentations. i instantly became close to this super kulit little boy named mark, and i did his make up for the presentation! his role? a tiger! hahaha. two groups then presented, one under the sea theme, one forest theme.. amazing and inspiring how these kids were taught to use their talents, and how they are taken away from the streets, away from prostitution and drugs, away from syndicates. when they develop their talents, they feel more self worth, and they start to develop real dreams for themselves. this day was all too touching, it was my first time to cry at a site visit because i was so touched. i hope we can all be inspired by how these kids fight for a better life for themselves!

(aug 14) day two of our child protection site visit! we visited three sites today. first is the rrcy or regional rehabilitation center for the youth, where this photo was taken. its an all boys center for juvenile law offenders. a few years ago, unicef was successful in pushing for the law to keep underage delinquents away from adult jails, and instead, have their own center. its so peaceful here, the boys are honestly very warm, fun loving, and their center head miss vivian said the number of boys they have has been declining, which is good! meaning more kids are reintegrated back to their homes. :-) today we also went to home for girls and haven, both homes for abused women. i almost burst into tears in the middle of this song presentation of young little girls, i just had to control myself because it was a happy get together! it breaks my heart that these girls had to go through sexual abuse, or being battered, or being sold and trafficked, its terrible. i'm so happy that i see them here happy and starting a new life and working on their skills and talents! i'm so blessed to be given a chance to touch their lives even through a simple visit. every place we went to today, they prepared a presentation, they prepared food, even speeches.. so touching. sobra. they were so thankful for our visit because they felt that someone cares about them. they have no idea how much its them we thank for touching our lives.

(aug 15) i'm back in manila but still on a high from my unicef site visit in cebu.. so i want to share i bit more kwento, if that's okay with you. :-) this photo i'm sending are the boys at the rrcy.. apparently, young boys in rehab are there mostly for either theft or rape. rape! i couldn't believe it when i heard it but i guess that's reality. next most common case is drugs, which is usually rugby sniffing, and there are a few cases of murder. nakakatuwa because here in the center, they encourage developing their talents and they also learn vocational skills to help them get jobs when they are released. i love seeing those boys who emerge as leaders of the group, those you see that really want to make something out of their lives. very inspiring. :-) a blessed sunday to all of you. i really slept in tonight. the cebu trip was very tiring and so i want to make sure that i won't get sick. plus i'm heading to work pa tonight for snn so i really have to keep healthy!
