(jan 16) enjoying a nice, quiet dinner alone.. in other words, me time!!!! :-) i wish it weren't so that people look at you in a weird way when they see you dining out alone.. i think its perfectly normal and we all have a right too just enjoy time alone right? :-) i'm enjoying one of my most favorite salads, original barbeque chicken chopped salad from cpk. yummmm! :-) had a very steady sunday today. my mom is actually out of town, enjoying the festivities at the ati atihan in kalibo, so i just heard mass alone, then my nanay virgie prepared yummy lunch, then i did my short run, then got ready for work! its quite peaceful enjoying time alone, and i suggest you guys have that every so often. in a world as busy as ours now, with tv, internet, its sometimes hard to hear ourselves think. so its very important to stay grounded and in check with reality! a friend of mine told me that maybe the reason why people like twitter is because they are appreciated or get positive tweet feedback, and that its easy to get jaded or get big headed or narcissitic, so its really important to step back and reasses. :-) i wish you all a blessed sunday! :-)

(jan 17) hello, cebu!!!! :-) decided super last minute, as in just over the weekend, that a quick beach getaway would be great.. and cebu it is! check out my fantastic view right now! i'm enjoying a healthy vegan sandwich and a glass of iced coffee, with the white sand and the blue sea and sky as my view.. :-) aaaaaaah, thank you LoRd! life is gooooood! :-):-):-):-) i super love cebu. i have actually never been to cebu during sinulog, and i swear it is one of my dreams to attend sinulog! i was actually supposed to go sunday for a day, to be on a float for a certain company, but it didn't push through and would be too ipit with my snn taping schedule. i hope next year talaga! :-) weather is actually very, very cold right now! it was so cold the whole of today and so windy too! when i checked, the temperature was 25! very unlikely for the beach, but its so nice! :-) my itinerary for today is to do absolutely nothing, to just lounge and just rest, to read a book, and just chill. i need to make it a point to go to the beach more this year, just like i used to in college! last year as in 2010, sobrang kulang ako sa beach! hahaha.

(jan 18) its a cold, rainy day in cebu! boooooo! i was hoping that if yesterday was cloudy, today would be at least sunny, even for a few hours! but noooo.. as soon as i woke up, rain! sayang. :-( i had a fun night last night! met up with a few cebuano friends, met a whole bunch of new friends, and just made kwentuhan the whole night by the beach! how fun!!!! :-) i'm so fascinated hearing them speak in bisaya and i really wish i could learn how to speak too. i love how their lifestyle allows them to fly to and from cebu and manila, maintaining a balance being based in two places! galing! :-) today, even if it was raining, i still swam in the beach! fascinating how on this beach, when the sun is out, the water is cold. but when its raining and its cloudy, the water is warm! heading home later today and going straight to snn live! my friends and bosses at work always find it so funny and so amusing how i can go away instantly and come back. batang layas! :-p

(jan 19) meet the emoteras, ange alarcon and rb chanco! hahahaha! theirs is a love-hate, cat-dog relationship that resembles how luis and mariel are to each other. haha! carino brutal! laging nagkukurutan at naghaharutan, iniinsulto ang isa't isa, pero kapag di nagkikita, super miss nila ang isa't isa! haha! cuuuute. :-) they are the ones responsible for helping me create my look every night, along with ate ester who fixes my hair, and bianca santiago who alternates with ange as stylist. i was sooooooo kilig because when i got to work today, i bumped into mr. m and tita mariole of star magic. tita mariole excitedly asked me, 'o, what are you wearing tonight??' i was beyond flattered and kilig!!!! imagine, THE starmakers watch out for my looks every night?! so kilig! :-):-):-):-) in other news, nakakalungkot though because today, we're lacking one person on our team! his name is angel, the p.a of rb, a super lovable, mataray, crazy gay boy! rb and angel had a shoot at 1PM today and angel just didn't show up, and whole day could not be reached via celphone. its so worrying right? i hope he's okay.. sobrang nag-aalala kami lahat.

(jan 20) its a backroom family reunion with none other than.. mariel!!!!!!!! :-) happiness! :-) that's tito boy, then seated nearest the mirror is tita bettina, then behind her is miss weng, then standing in a cap is dada! so, so, so happy to see mariel again! :-) she's super businesswoman like in her white button down top, wide leg jeans, and pearl earrings. when i asked why she looked so 'kapitapitagan', she says in her signature funny way, 'because i mean business.' hahahahahaha! she's in abs today for a meeting with tito boy and some bosses. of course i hope it goes well because not just as a friend, but as a viewer, i super miss seeing mariel on tv! :-) for those curious, and for those asking, she is very much fine, well, happy, and in love. :-) everyday i get tweets asking how mariel is, and i always say she's doing great! she's still the same bubbly and funny girl, just a more mature version i guess. she has learned so much since meeting robin and it has really opened up her world! i'm very, very happy for her. :-) it was great to catch up with loads of chismis and updates i had to share with her.

(jan 21) happy friday everyone! here now at a photo shoot for print material for yin yang cooling tea, the same product i shot a commercial for last year. i'm here now with the fabulous steven doloso, make up artist, who usually does the make up of ruffa, and hairstylist jericho, who usually does the hair of gretchen! nakssss.. :-) i must say it was a pretty tough shoot because aside from the regular smiling and posing with the product, they had lots of yoga poses! good thing i really practice yoga! imagine holding a yoga pose for maybe like three minutes while emoting and giving different facial expressions! so tough! i was asked to do the tree pose, that's when you raise up one foot and rest it on the other leg's thigh, with your hands in prayer position. funny cause everyone else was trying to do it after i did, i wish i had taken a photo! the tougher position was the bow and arrow, also called arabesque, its when one arm is straight in front of you, the other is holding one foot, with the leg stretched out all the way back. for how many minutes! i was quite proud of myself! :-) its a steady friday, going out for dinner maybe tonight. hope you're all having a fine friday! :-)

(jan 22) with my friends i love sooo much! :-) catching up with friends when your schedules are so busy and its so hard to get together.. priceless. :-) from left to right, that's carlo, one of my best guy friends.. then maui and pam, one of my favorite couples ever, and pam my best friend.. then geline and paolo, also one of the loveliest couples i know, that are expecting their first baby this march! and last is paul and chris, one of the most inspiring couples i know, they have battled so many things together and are now living happily and in love. :-) i'm very proud of every single person in my barkada, we call ourselves team dosh, because every single one is successful in his or her own career, and i would think is a major player in society! everyone works hard, plays hard, is family oriented, is grounded in pinoy values. so proud to be friends with all of them! its funny how it seems that all the guys in our group work in a business related to finance, as in banking and investments, and all the girls in our group work in a business related to fashion and beauty! as in all! so great catching up. all we did today was eat! we probably moved to four different restaurants just to eat then have coffee then dessert, then eat again.. ang saya saya lang. :-)

(jan 23) its a beautiful sunday skyping with rocotoy the baby boy! :-) aaaaaaay, what a cute baby. what a joy this baby is!!!! every sunday morning here in manila is saturday night in san francisco, which is usually why we're both free to skype. :-) i love waking up sunday mornings to the sound of my mom singing her made up songs in the other room, i then know she's already with rocotoy! it was a steady day today. i went to mass, then had lunch, then did my run, then got ready to leave for work! today my mom was a reader at mass today so i was standing alone in church. i suddenly felt sad and all grown up, thinking that my brother is all the way in san francisco, my sister all the way in london, it makes me think what will my fate be? i never wanted to live abroad permanently, but then my brother and my sister realised it late too! oh i wonder. :-)

(jan 24) yummmm! i love japanese food! my absolute, most favorite cuisine in the world! :-) i've been trying to eat healthier and cut down on food intake to lose the three to five pounds i've been wanting to lose, and japanese food is a great option! sashimi is very healthy because its not cooked in oil and not seasoned. salmon is my favorite, and next would be uni and unagi! i remember ages ago when i shot for a campaign for an old clothing endorsement, where my look had to be like a jungle woman, and my lay out had a snake with me in the shot, i was asked to do a strict diet two weeks before the shoot! basically it was no oily, no fried, no rice nor potatoes nor pasta, only wheat bread, lessen sugar and salt. boy was it hard, but boy did i lose weight! i was suuuuper stick thin! its hard to do the no carbs thing now, i love rice, plus i exercise daily so i would need the carbs to burn.. but i am trying to cut down on oily and fried, and on salt and sweets. sample meal is this, sashimi, then agedashi tofu because its not fried tofu therefore healthier, and kani and cucumber salad with minimal dressing! if you're trying to lose pounds too, try this! :-)

(jan 25) i love eco friendly bags!!!! :-) i am a major supporter of this new city ordinance we have in muntinlupa.. zero plastic bags! yes. as in zero! a lot of people find it a hassle but i love it! i think its high time we stop using plastic bags to take that first step in saving the environment! :-) so like now, i had to do a bit of grocery shopping and i brought my own eco bag.. but for other shoppers who don't bring their own, the supermarket uses brown paper bags or boxes! i think its super awesome! even when you buy drinks like quickly or serenitea to bring inside the movie house, you won't be given a plastic bag! i think its really, really awesome! at first when i heard it'd be implemented starting january, i was skeptical. i didn't think it was possible. but seeing it happen now, i think its so inspiring! i wish other cities would follow suit! :-) so if there's a way you can suggest to your city officials, or wait, let's go even smaller, your barangay officials, or even your schools or work places.. please do everything in your power to suggest it and push for it in your area.. you and your friends, help make a difference! we can do this, we can start saving the earth! go, go, go! :-) i want to suggest it here in the abs compound too.. fingers crossed. :-)

(jan 26) pink lips kung pink lips! :-) hahahaha! this is me, rb my make up artist, bianca my stylist, and ate ester my hairstylist! kasi we were trying out this hot pink lip gloss for me to wear tonight, and when rb squeezed it out of the tube, it overflowed! so as much as i put on my lips already, the gloss was still too much, eh di na mababalik yun sa tube! so i told rb to put on her lips. tinodo na niya and there was still some left so we told bianca to put! sobra pa din so we put ate ester to put! and finally, naubos na! hahahahahaha! you can just imagine how much we were laughing with the unending lip gloss! hahaa! its fun thinking of what to wear and how to fix my hair or how to do our make up! do you have any suggestions? are any of you student designers and you want me to showcase your designs on snn? i'm super up for it!!!! :-) tweet me your suggestions naman! :-)

(jan 27) guess who visited me at the dressing room today.... none other than my sister mariel!!!! :-) love ittt! :-) she has a big meeting again today and so she went a bit earlier than the time so we could catch up and hang out! i told her she looked a bit summery! she said its her slowly preparing for her 'i'm back' look! hahahaha! i know for her comeback she's set to cut her hair! what style, we don't know yet! today she had fitting for her future outfits for her comeback, she's still bubbly as ever, making all of us in the dressing room laugh, just like the good ol times. nakakamiss grabe! i'm happy for mariel and super proud of her. not everyone who leaves the industry for months will have a job to come back to, but i've always believed nag-iisa si mariel, her talent and her charm, no one is like her! watch out for what show she will come back in. :-) i bet it will knock you off your feet! :-)

(jan 28) hello from singapore lah!!!! :-) its a very cloudy day today and weather is hotter than manila! but its all good, its just a weekend getaway where my itinerary will be to relax, to shop, and to have fun! :-) singapore is really one of my most favorite near destinations because i love how this city is a mix of energy and laid back-ness! okay there is no such word, but you know what i mean! i'm not sure but i think i've shared it with you before.. but to this day, i still feel like i would want to work or study, if only for a few months, here in singapore! but work is going great back home and i absolutely cannot complain! we'll see if its my destiny. we'll see. :-p today, itinerary is orchard, which is the main shopping area, and them maybe tonight the marina area for some sea view, or maybe even clarke quay which is the river area! woohoo! :-)

(jan 29) today is the day i'm a kid all over again!!!! :-) the reason why i went to singapore.. to be able to go to universal studios!!!! :-) woohoo! :-) last time i was in universal studios was in los angeles, way back when i was high school! so when i found out that universal was opening here in singapore, i've been wanting to go! finally, i'm heeeeeeere! woohoo! i love theme parks! i really do! i think that even as an adult, we should still all keep going to theme parks, if only to revisit the kid in us. the younger generation is lucky because now there's universal here and disneyland in hong kong! at least they don't have to go all the way to the states anymore! :-) i'm so excited to see all the cool shows, there's this waterworld show that's all action and you can get super wet if you sit at the front rows! that's where i wanna sit! i'm also excited to see different characters like those in shrek and madagascar! and of course the rollercoaster!!!! i'm hopping and skipping around this park and no one can stop meeee!!!! :-p

(jan 30) this is one of the many hawker centers that singapore is famous for! :-) took this photo last night to be able to share with you! when you come here, you have to make sure you get to eat here! hawkers is their term for magkakatabing carinderia basically, and most of them specialize in either chicken rice or chicken wings! most famous hawkers are newton, lau pa sa, and maxwell! these places are the perfect examples of masarap na, mura pa! :-p haay, its going home day today so not much to make kwento. universal was so rainy yesterday and i made sure to drink lots of vitamin c so i don't get sick! my feet were so wet, my head was damp, but i had sooo much fun running around. :-) decided to head to clarke quay last night which is the nice river area. thought we could take a nice walk but it was still raining so hard! its a good thing the establishments on one whole side are all covered. met a lot of pinoys, both tourists and residents working there. most of the pinoys based there that i met though have only been there between one to six months! all still slightly new! they said they're doing okay so far, but get home sick a lot. tried to give a bit of encouragement, which i feel they'd appreciate from any kababayan they bump into there. :-)
